Door to the Green Room

The door to the Green Room must be kept closed at all times, per a request by the park staff. If you need to use the bathroom take the key with you to unlock the door to let yourself back into the library.

Thanks,

Children's Art Project Contest: "We Are America"

The USCIS is hosting a children’s art project themed "We Are America," asking children (5-12) to share their ideas on the following question:

"People have come from all over the world
to become Americans.
Why does that make us great?"

The USCIS will display submissions in USCIS offices across the country and will recognize participants during the 2010 celebration of the "September 11 National Day of Service and Remembrance."

The deadline to submit artwork is August 16 so tell young artists to get out the crayons, paint and markers and start drawing. For full details on the project, please visit the Children’s Art Project page.

Concourse Reserves @ Discovery Green

The collection at Discovery Green will float with the entire system starting July 1, 2010. There is NOT a need for using course reserves for the DG collection anymore. Please contact me if you have any questions. Thanks.

Parking Permits

Hello Discovery Green Staff,

As we know, staff members from other libraries are asked to assist from time-to-time at Discovery Green. On such occasions, those members need a parking permit. There have been instances (this has happened to me a couple of times) in which dedicated Discovery Green staff members have kept one of the permits, thereby forcing visiting staff members to find alternative parking solutions, e.g. paying for parking.

In consideration of visiting staff members, please return parking permits upon the conclusion of your shift.

Thank You,

Don
